Nebulisation

The definition if nebulisation, also referred to as atomisation, is to convert a liquid into a fine spray.

Medical applications include non-invasive delivery of drugs to the upper and lower airways. 

 

General principles include:

- Low amount of deposition of total amount of nebuliser drug

- Efficacy dependent on compliance

- Deposition of drug dependent on particle size
